Fr. Daniel J. McNamara, SJ has a Ph.D. in Astro-Geophysics from the University of Colorado, Boulder.  He is a Professor of the Department of Physics of Ateneo de Manila University, but is currently on leave due to his new assignment as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in Ateneo de Davao University.  Fr. McNamara is also the Science Director at Manila Observatory and Rector of the Jesuits Novices at Ateneo de Davao University.  Fr. McNamara is the prime investigator of the Philippine MAGDAS (Magnetic Data Acquisition System) Project in collaboration with the International Center for Space Weather Science and Education of Kyushu University.  Fr. McNamara supervises research on ionosphere, magnetosphere, and the sun.  He also supervises research works on the applications of Clifford algebra in physics.  Fr. McNamara is a spiritual director and has conducted numerous Spiritual Exercises for many groups of retreatants.
