Abenir, Mark Anthony D.

Mark Anthony D. Abenir is a faculty member of the Development Studies Program at the Ateneo de Manila University. Aside from being a certified development project manager, his community-engaged scholarship (teaching, research, and service) centers around service-learning, community development, development management, participatory action research, and disaster resilience. He received his doctoral degree in Social Development and master's degree in Community Development, both majoring in Social Development Planning and Administration, from the University of Philippines-Diliman. He is also an alumnus of the Brown International Advanced Research Institutes program of Brown University. His expertise is on the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community, social welfare, and poverty reduction/eradication programs that are participatory, people-centered, gender-sensitive, and rights-based. Given his expertise, he is willing to supervise research in the following areas: Service-Learning, University Social Responsibility, Community Development, and Disaster Resilience.
