Emmanuel Joseph B. Solis II “EJ” is a Lecturer for DEV 106.1 Community Development and Social Change, DEV 107 Project Management, DEV 108 Communication for Development, and research classes--DS 165.35: Research in Development Issues and DS 150: Field Specialization. He is currently a Senior Program Officer of the Political Section at the Australian Embassy, The Philippines assisting in the Peacebuilding Program in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. He was previously a Program Officer in the Governance and Economic Sections at the Embassy where he handled subnational programs such as the Provincial Road Management Facility and the Public Financial Management Program. He also worked as an Advisor for a Conflict Sensitive Program and Decentralization Program with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ). He was also a part-time instructor for the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Masters in Public Management Program. EJ earned his master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Q.C. He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree of Bachelor of Arts major in Development Studies minor in Economics. Given his experience, he is willing to supervise research in the following areas: governance, subnational/local governance, and peacebuilding.
