ASOG joins GMA’s biggest alliance for Eleksyon 2022 coverage

02 Dec 2021

election 2022

On November 26, 2021, the Ateneo School of Government, represented by Ateneo Professional Schools Vice President John Paul C. Vergara, sealed its partnership with GMA Network, along with the country’s 50 other leading organizations in the fields of media, education, telecommunications, business, law, and public service, through a virtual Eleksyon 2022 Partnerships Launch event.

In the event, GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon stated the role of  alliance, which is to keep a close watch on the electoral process and aid voters as they participate and make their decision on the most important democratic process in the country which is the national elections.  He also emphasized their aim to uphold the primary values which are honesty, integrity, and truth in the upcoming 2022 elections.

Prior to the event, ASOG also recently launched its efforts to aid the Philippine electorate in combating misinformation and disinformation in preparation for the upcoming 2022 Elections, including What the Fake?!: Ang Fake News Challenge ng Bayan, a novel fake news diagnostic tool that aims to determine if the respondents’ ability to determine fake and real news is impaired or not.
