Narrating the Nation: 50 Years of Ateneo de Manila University Press

This 2022, we celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of the Ateneo de Manila University Press. It has been five decades since the Press became the University’s supreme expression of engagement with the world.

Established in 1972, the Ateneo University Press first made its mark with books on the Philippines, in the humanities and social sciences. It pioneered in recovering and publishing Filipino classic literary works. The University Press has since expanded to include titles in archaeology, arts, biography, cultural heritage, diaspora studies, governance and political change, law and society, leadership, Mindanao studies, science and society, and theology and religious studies.

On the occasion of its 50th year, join us as we look back at the scholarly contributions of the University Press throughout the years—its landmark books that are now classic and foundational in various disciplines, and interventional in paths of scholarship. The Ateneo de Manila University Press looks forward to a future that will continue to bravely narrate the nation through well-written, extensively-researched, and well-produced books on the Philippines and its multifarious concerns.

We are excited to celebrate this milestone anniversary with you. Several special book events, author engagements, and book deals will roll out over the course of the year. Stay tuned and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
