4 ASHS mathletes win gold for PH in Thailand Math Olympiad

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathletes Kyle Xander Co (12-Oldcorne), Sophia Lee (11-Wright), Amber Lim (11-Tsuji), Cassidy Tan (11-Moscoso), and Maica Chua (11-Moscoso) were among the 578 Filipino math wizards who won medal awards for the Philippines at the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 (TIMO) Final Round, which was held online on April 2, 2022. They all competed in the senior secondary group, with Kyle Xander, Sophia, Nicole and Cassidy winning the gold award, and Maica receiving the silver award.
As per the Math Olympiads Training League Inc. (MOTLI), the Philippine delegation to the TIMO 2022 Final Round was our country’s biggest ever in the competition, with our gold, silver, and bronze awardees already being assured of receiving a YES (Youth Excellence in Science) medal from the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) next year.
