ROBOTICS

 

Invent, Build and Code Creative Smart Mechatronics

 

Robotics engages kids of all ages to be creative, inventive and critical thinkers.  Kids in this workshop will experience building and coding (programming) smart machines and contraptions.

 

Participants will apply STEAM and Engineering Design concepts in the process of doing the activities while having fun.

 

The best of it all…. the models and projects they will create and all the contents of the personal robotics kit that they will receive will be theirs already even after the workshop to allow them to continue and explore the endless possibilities of this program.

 

Requirements:

 

Participants must have a Windows 10 or Mac OS 10.12 (or higher) OS computer or laptop; available USB port

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 9 – 13 years old

 

Schedule:       June 6-17, 2022 (Hyflex)

                       Group 1 (AM Session):  10:30am –12:30pm (maximum of 20 students per class)

                       Group 2 (PM Session):  1:00pm – 3:00pm (maximum of 20 students per class)

Fee:               P8,000.00 (inclusive of the Robotics Kit)

TAEKWONDO

 

Taekwondo seeks to build among its students DISCIPLINE, discipline is not only limited to proper conduct, but it also entails focus and self – mastery.  It builds SELF – CONFIDENCE through friendly sparring and promotion tests, students learn to aspire, work hard, and celebrate successes. In and outside the class, students are taught to assert themselves while maintaining a high level of RESPECT for rules, authority, peers and opponents.

 

Requirements:

Participants can wear Dobuk Uniform or Jogging Pants and White T-shirt

* For White Belt Beginner – Taekwondo Dobuk Uniform

* For Colored Belters – Taekwondo Dobuk Uniform and Sparring gear

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 5 and up

Schedule:       June 6-17, 2022 (Hyflex) and July 4-15, 2022 (Hyflex)

                       1:00pm – 3:00pm (maximum of 20  students per class)

BEND AND STRETCH FOR KIDS

 

Bend and Stretch (for KIDS) is a physical activity that promotes wellness in body and mind. Kids will be exposed to poses and games that will allow them to enjoy, focus and listen more in every session. Activities from this program are based on Vinyasa yoga discipline. It offers physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages. Focus, agility, strength, and breathing exercises are the primary benefits of this offering. The second part of the activity will focus on basic movements in relation to biomechanics. These will further improve one’s posture and alignment. It will target to develop one’s agility and strength that is very important to prevent injury.

 

Requirements:

Students must have his/her own yoga mat

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 8-16 years old

Schedule:       June 6-10, 2022 (Teacher Nao); June 13-17, 2022 (Coach Joenel)

FLOORBALL

 

Floorball is a type of indoor sport similar to ice hockey that doesn’t require any bulky attire; all you need to have is your  running shoes, jersey shirt, floorball stick and ball.

During this pandemic, kids can play floorball to improve their technique, hand and eye coordination and have a fun activity that they can do at home, in small spaces or in a court.

Floorball stick and ball may be lent to the SOAR participant. This will be handed to him/her during the 1st day of the course.

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, Ages 8 – 13 years old

                       July 4-15, 2022 (10:30am - 12:30pm)

CHILLAX AND SOAR WITH MINDFULNESS

 

This program aims to provide a safe and brave space for kids to interact and learn mindfulness tools to help them stay calm, improve their focus, befriend their minds and bodies, and make wise choices to express their emotions.   In this class, children will discover how mindfulness can be practiced through meditation and other creative ways  to help them develop their confidence to self-regulate.

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 7– 12 years old              

Schedule:       June 6 to 17, 2022

                       10:30am - 12:30pm

Venue:            Google Meet / Zoom/ Onsite

Fee:                 P4,500.00

CHILLAX STORIES AND MINDFULNESS FOR KIDS

This is a special program for children to learn mindfulness through storytelling and sprinkles of mindfulness exercises to train their attention and regulate their emotions.  There are a lot of opportunities in this class to be curious, be kind, develop empathy, and interact even through an online platform.  Children will also learn how to use their imagination and use short, yet powerful, meditations as tools to help them focus, rest, be happy, and stay calm.

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 4-7 years old                    

Schedule:       June 6 to 17, 2022

                       4:00pm to 5:00pm

KIDS ATHLETICS – TRACK AND FIELD FOR THE YOUNG

 

“IAAF KIDS’ ATHLETICS” is intended to bring excitement into playing Athletics. 

New events and innovative organization will enable children to discover basic

activities:  sprinting, endurance running, jumping, throwing/putting in just about

any place (stadium, playground, gymnasium, any available sport area, etc.).

The games will provide children with the opportunity to make the most out

of the benefits of Athletics in terms of good health, personal discipline and agility. 

 

Learn the foundations of warming-up, cooling down, running drills,

running, jumping, hurdling and throwing.  Experience and enjoy the beauty

of Athletics!

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 6 – 13 years old

UKULELE

 

Ukulele is the happiest musical instrument. This course serves as an introduction to the instrument and will provide students with an instant access to making music on the Ukulele. Focus points will be the basic chords, strumming and rhythms, improvising and playing songs.

 

Requirements: 

Student must have his/her own ukulele

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 6 – 17 years old

                        (maximum of 10-20 students)

Schedule:       June 6-17, 2022 & July 4-15, 2022

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

 

We will offer a hybrid martial arts class that includes a mixture of combat discipline of two or more styles of martial arts.

Exercise is great for every kid and martial arts is one of the best ways to build a kid's confidence. A path to become a better individual as Martial Arts is a way of life.

 

Requirements: 

Please wear shorts, dri-fit shirt or rash guard and gloves

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 5– 18 years old

                        (maximum of 10-20 students)

Schedule:       June 6-17, 2022 & July 4-15, 2022

                        1:00pm – 3:00pm

KIDS FOR CHRIST

 

Kids for Christ utilize faith-applied activities under the 4-F principle of fun, freedom, friendship and faith. It will be a series of summer boot camps designed to share the joy of Christ such as Leadership Camp in God’s little army with God as our greatest ally: Eco Camp for the appreciation of creation and protecting nature as an eco-warrior, Star Camp to develop my-talents for Jesus in dance, music and acting; Champ Camp as the Lord’s champions in running the race and winning for Jesus; Media Camp to spread the Word through music, storytelling of bravery, heroism, generosity and forgiveness; Business Camp to learn and develop entrepreneurial skills and financial stewardship; and finally, to learn to value and honor their greatest gift from the Lord… their Super Mom and Super Dad.

These activities will hopefully develop in the participants the Ateneo/Kids for Christ lifestyle that promotes life’s meaningful and gentle advocacies, allowing them to contribute to society and our church community by being a boy/girl for others.

GAME CODERS:  MINECRAFT PROGRAMMING WORKSHOP

 

Jump start your coding skills while having fun using colorful and easy to

drag and drop command blocks.  Watch your program run in Minecraft’s

fun and save 3D Environment.  

 

Let Game Coders start your journey in becoming a master coder!

COMIC BOOK WORKSHOP

 

Comic book workshop is an online class that will improve your skills and techniques in drawing human figure characters. This online and onsite workshop is focused on creating unique characters, posters, online comic strips and comic books. Furethermore, you will create your very own online Comic Book Exhibit using Google slides. The class will provide the necessary tutorials to help you increase your skills in drawing, designing and conceptualizing. By the end of the workshop, you will learn a thing or two on how to make creative works of art!

 

Participants: kids ages 8-13 years old

Schedule: June 6-10 and June 13-17, 2022

CHESS 

 

Chess, a classic game of strategy and tactics, is one of the oldest games in the history of the world. Numerous studies have shown that chess sharpens one’s abstract thinking and can even improve math and reading skills. Playing chess

teaches children how to focus, visualize, plan, think ahead, weigh options, and juggle multiple considerations simultaneously.

 

More importantly, chess is fun! A thrilling competition of mental power, chess challenges children to be creative  and to think out of the box in order to win the battle and  claim victory!

BON APPETIT

 

Learn an important life skill.  Hone your cooking skills and learn some healthy and delicious recipes this summer!

Bon Appetit is a cooking class where the students will learn basic cooking skills through simple, delicious and healthy recipes. Students will be involved in meal preparation, cooking and cleaning up. Hope to see you!

KICKBOXING FOR KIDS

 

Modern kickboxing is a relatively new martial art that has been influenced by various martial arts. It uses punches, kicks, and a little bit of wrestling; thus, it is a dynamic physical activity that develops an individual’s full physical capabilities.

 

Other than being a complete exercise, kickboxing also has the added benefit of learning self-defense and strengthening mental skills like focus and confidence. Kickboxing is truly a complete activity that develops a positive attitude while being physically active.

 

Requirements: 

Student must have his/her own boxing gloves and hand wraps

 

Participants:  Boys and Girls, ages 10 – 13 years old

ROUNDNET

 

It's the next global sport!

 

Roundnet (commonly known as spikeball) is a net sport. The game is played between two teams with two players each. Players initially line up around a small trampoline-like net at the start of a point. The sport was originally created in 1989 by Jeff Knurek, inspired primarily by concepts from volleyball. Roundnet is a fun activity with family and friends. It cxan be played indoor or outdoor.

 

Requirements: wear proper sports attire (shirt, shorts or jogging pants, socks and rubber shoes)

*roundnet sets will be provided by the coaches

NIHONGO FOR BEGINNERS

 

Join the Nihongo for Beginners and learn basic conversational Japanese. Learn how to read and write basic Kanji and Hiragana. Learn about Japanese traditional and pop culture. Isshouni benkyou shimashou!
