16 Sep 2022
We are delighted to share that Mr. Arvin Martin I. Santos, 5 BS Information Technology Entrepreneurship (ITE), has been selected as an Academic Fellow in the prestigious and highly-competitive Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) by the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines. Arvin is one of only five representatives from the Philippines and among 41 young leaders from 11 countries in Southeast Asia for the Fall 2022 cohort.
YSEALI is a signature program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program was launched in 2013 to strengthen leadership development across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), deepen engagement with young leaders on key regional and global challenges, and strengthen people-to-people ties between the United States and Southeast Asia.
This year, the YSEALI is hosted by the University of Connecticut and the University of Texas at Austin and will focus on the theme of Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. During the fellowship program, the young leaders will participate in a transformative learning experience that deepens their knowledge and understanding of the United States. They will be equipped with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of economic development to create sustainable solutions to enhance social and economic development throughout their respective communities and countries.

Congratulations, Arvin!
