First Holy Communion 'a joyous culmination of years of waiting and anticipation'
16 Nov 2022
Jesus said to the crowd: I am the bread from heaven; everyone who eats it will live forever. For my flesh is the lifegiving bread that I give to the people of this world. (John 6:51)
On Saturday, November 12, around 200 boys from eight 4th grade Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) sections had their First Holy Communion during two celebrations held at 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the AGS Covered Courts.
AGS boys normally receive the sacrament when they are in Grade 2, but the Covid-19 lockdown prevented the celebration from being held during School Years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
Ms. Sarah Songco, Grade Level Coordinator (GLC) for Grade 4, mentioned that the Grade 4 students fully participated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, their First Holy Communion being a joyous culmination of their years of waiting and anticipation.
The remaining Grade 4 sections will have their First Holy Communion this Saturday, November 19, 2022.
