Max Favila grabs gold in 'New Face of the Year' tkd tourney

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School’s Max Favila (La Storta/9-Fausti) won a gold medal at the National New Face of the Year Taekwondo Championships held from October 22-23, 2022. He competed in the cadet heavyweight advanced division of the event, which was held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila.
Organized by Smart/MVP Sports Foundation and hosted by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA), the New Face of the Year Taekwondo Championships is an annual event that highlights the progress and development of young jins as they trade styles and techniques during its two-day duration. The 2022 tournament was supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee.
Max is a member of the Ateneo Taekwondo Varsity and trains under coaches Jobet Morales, Elmer Rafael, Joey Paja and Angelito Laga.
