The Loyola Schools welcomed 72 International Exchange Students (IXS) on campus via its first onsite Orientation Seminar (OrSem) since the pandemic last 4-5 January 2023 at the Loyola Heights campus.
The OrSem, facilitated and organized by the Office of International Relations (OIR), is an integral component of the University's exchange program as it integrates and prepares IXS for the Second Semester of School Year 2022-23.
Among this semester’s IXS, 66 are undergraduates while 3 are graduate students and 3 are visiting research students. The IXS come from 31 partner universities from 12 countries: Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The two-day onsite OrSem was organized by OIR, in partnership with the Ateneo Student Exchange Council (ASEC), OIR’s partner student arm. Topics covered during the OrSem include study permit and visa requirements, enrollment guidelines, University policies, student and security services, health policies, and even a cultural overview.

Part of the 2-day Orsem is a Buddy Mixer where our IXS met their buddies, who are local Ateneo students who assist IXS in coping with university life. ASEC also facilitated a campus tour to allow IXS to familiarize themselves with the campus buildings and facilities that they need to use during the entire exchange program.

During their first week on-campus, the IXS also completed the registration processes in time for their classes which started on 16 January 2023. They were also required to complete all their study permits and visa documents with the help of the Visa Section of OIR.

This batch of IXS will be a part of the Ateneo community from January to May 2023. In the spirit of internationalization, the entire Ateneo de Manila University warmly welcomes our 2nd Semester 2022-23 IXS.
