Synchronized National Interfaith Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation

02 Feb 2023 | Loyola Schools Office of Campus Ministry

Together with Filipinos of every creed and denomination,
please join us in praying for our country this afternoon,
as we commemorate the

Day for the Synchronized National Interfaith Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation.
Text for the Prayer for the Philippines and the Whole World.

Prayer for the Philippines and the Whole World

Almighty God, in Your mercy and compassion,
forgive our sins and the sins of our people.
Look with favor upon us as we pray
for our country, the Philippines,
and for the whole world.
Bless all our leaders with good health, wisdom,
integrity, truthfulness and righteousness.
Uphold our families and keep our children safe.

Help us be moral and upright citizens,
living together peacefully, with sincerity,
loving-kindness, acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness.

Protect us from foreign invasion, destructive influences,
famine, recession, pestilence and hopelessness,
and defend us from acts of lawlessness, terrorism and war.

Thank You for the miracles You continue to do
as the Covid-19 pandemic wears on.
Thank You for the many survivors.
We pray for those who died.
Bring them home to Heaven
and help their families carry on.
Bless the front-liners who serve so valiantly.
Please end this pandemic once and for all.

Accord divine insights and political will
to leaders tasked with reviving our economy
and returning our country to normalcy.

Grant our country, the Philippines,
peace, healing, unity and prosperity,
and bring about the transformation of our nation
so that we may be Your light to Asia and the world.

Amen.

"The narrative of Christ’s passion reaches a peak when we are told he breathed his last. We know that with this, death came to Jesus, though not to claim him forever. For us, his last breath meant our new life. Because of this sacrifice, we can allow ourself to be enlivened by the breaths we take. "

40 Days of Lent: Day 17

"God felt deeply sad about our condition of sin that Jesus was sent to be with us. Christ in his passion surely knew sadness because of pain and betrayal. So this feeling is not something foreign to our Lord. This gives us reason to openly express it, especially to our Creator. What brings you sadness these days? What weighs heavily on your heart?"
