On January 25, 2023, Ateneo de Manila University Class of ’82 signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to establish several scholarships in the Loyola Schools, totaling P6.4 million across six grants.

Dr. Jo-Ed Tirol, the director of the Office of Admission and Aid (OAA) was there to welcome members of Batch ’82, including batch representative Ms. Julie Javellana-Santos, Dr. Ruben Encarnacion, Mr. Alessandro Tengco, Mr. Rene Banzon and other members of the Batch. Several representatives from the Ateneo community who are also Batch ’82 Alumni were present during the signing: Fr. Norberto Bautista, SJ (Director, OUDAA), Atty. Jaime Hofileña (Director, ULCO), and Mr. Manolito Tayag (Trustee, Ateneo de Manila University).

The six College ’82 scholarships are for financially needy and deserving students. Four scholarships will follow different guidelines given by their respective donors and the other two are specifically for BS ME students.
Batch ’82 celebrated its Ruby Jubilee last December. They raised these funds in support of the Ateneo College Scholarship (ACS) Program.
