Please feel free to forward to your colleagues and networks. Apologies if you're receiving this more than once.

Ateneo Institute of Sustainability (AIS), John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM), and Sustainable Development Solutions Network Philippines (SDSN PH) are partnering with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in organizing a hybrid public plenary entitled "The Evolving Role of Universities in Sustainability".

The public plenary briefly introduces what sustainability is about, the current landscape of the industry and where it is going. In his public plenary, Eelco van der Enden, CEO of GRI will highlight how the changing landscape of sustainability transformed the role of universities in sustainable development. With the fight against greenwashing, stakeholders demand greater accountability from investors, businesses, and governments and this movement is a subject the universities could actively partake in. The event also intends to encourage participants to look more closely at the right avenues and opportunities in sustainability business management and reporting. This will be followed by a fireside chat and panel discussion featuring experts in the industry and academe.

The plenary will be on 13 March 2023 (Monday) at 4:00–5:30PM (GMT+8:00).

Registration link: This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration for both online and on-site participation is required via https://go.ateneo.edu/EvolvingRoleInSustainability

On-site participation: The plenary session will happen at Escaler Hall, SEC-A Bldg, Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, the Philippines. Refreshments will be served after the plenary. Deadline for registration for on-site participation (maximum of 100) is on March 1.

Online participation: A Zoom link will be sent to all who registered by March 10.

Contact us: For questions or concerns, please contact SDSN PH Country Manager Dr. Emmanuel Delocado edelocado@ateneo.edu (cc: sdsnph@gmail.com) with “SDSN PH Public Plenary” on the subject line.
