The team was declared champion and also bagged two out of the 11 special awards. These awards are namely:

  • Best in Market Timing - This special award is given to the team that achieved the highest spread from trading a specific security.
  • The Alpha Team - This special award will be given to the team that generated the highest total returns (MTM + realized gains + accrual income) throughout the competition.

Held by the Money Market Association of the Philippines (MART) and the Chartered Financial Analyst Society Philippines (CFAP), the MART x CFAP Cup is a two-month market simulation game where college students test their expertise in market reading, fixed income analysis, and trading under real-world market scenarios.

There were 15 schools who participated—including DLSU, UST, FEU, NU, and UP, amounting to a total of 24 teams of three to five members each. Participants are expected to use negotiation techniques, market conventions, and trading terminologies to generate the highest possible amount of trading gains or total returns on an actively traded securities portfolio.

For the past 51 years, the MART has served the public through its financial literacy advocacies and professional development initiatives to uplift the trading sector. The CFAP is one of the 150 member societies of CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that advocate for ethical behavior in investment markets. These institutions are central to promoting financial literacy in the country through their various initiatives including this bond trading competition.
