Master in Data Science students finish 2nd runner-up in the ASEAN Data Science Explorers National Finals

Masters in Data Science (M DSc) students Theresa Denise C Magsajo and Kimberlee S Say won 2nd runner-up as Team Blurple in the ASEAN Data Science Explorers National Finals held last 1 Sept 2023 at Ateneo de Manila University.
The ASEAN Data Science Explorers competition aims to empower youths across the ASEAN member-states with data analytics and visualization, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills by having participants present data stories tackling issues related to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the contest, Magsajo and Say presented their data story titled, "Exploring the Multifaceted Issue of Clean Energy", which examines factors leading to the ASEAN region's lag in achieving SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.
Team Blurple extends their most heartfelt gratitude for all the support from fellow schoolmates and professors throughout their preparations for the contest.

Six educational institutions partner with Ateneo for ProbSET 2.0
Ateneo's Department of Mathematics launched the second iteration of Problem Solving Enrichment and Training (or ProbSET) last 22 July 2023. Here, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), West Visayas State University (WVSU), and DepEd Division of Davao de Oro (DepEd DdO) renewed their partnership with ProbSET. They were joined by new partners Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Iloilo Science and Technology University(ISAT-U), and DepEd Division of Ormoc City (DepEd Ormoc).

Applied Mathematics students present papers at the 4th ICoAIMS conference
Last August, a group of recently graduated Applied Mathematics students presented research papers at the 4th International Conference on Applied & Industrial Mathematics and Statistics (ICoAIMS) 2023 held in Kuantan, Malaysia. Six (6) papers, which were all outputs of their respective undergraduate theses, were accepted for oral presentation. And two of them won "Best Paper" awards.

AJHS mathletes Paco Javier and Joaquin Jobog bring home 5 medals from Korea and Singapore contests
Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathletes Paco Javier (7-Alfonso) and Joaquin Jobog (9-Isore) won multiple medals in the final rounds of
