Llarena bags bronze for PH in Asia TKD tilt

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School jin Lucas Llarena (10-Nelson) won a bronze medal in the 7th Asian Junior Taekwondo Poomsae Championships’ mixed freestyle team event. The tournament was held at the Nouhad Naufal Indoor Sports Stadium in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 5.
Lucas and his teammates were coached by Jeordan Dominguez, poomsae coach of the Ateneo college varsity. Lucas was among the 12 jins (six males + six females) selected by the Philippine Taekwondo Association to represent our country in Lebanon for the poomsae (forms) events.
The Asian Juniors Poomsae Championships attracted approximately 200 taekwondo practitioners from 17 countries, including Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
