The Department of Biology is recognized for its excellence in developing students who would eventually pursue studies and professions in medicine, biological research, industry, consultancy, and academia, among others. It is a closely-knit community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who share a common passion for exploring the diverse disciplines within biology.
The department offers two undergraduate honors programs, B.S. Biology and B.S. Life Sciences, and three graduate programs, M.S. Biology, Ph.D. Biology, and M.S. Science Education. It is a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Center of Excellence in Biology and an ASEAN University Network accredited program (B.S. Biology).
